e-DBA Flexible Resourcing

The e-DBA team excels in providing Oracle database administration, Unix and Linux System Administration and other technical skills with our existing company resources and e-DBA team methodologies. As e-DBA provides support and resources for a wide range of organisations, we bring experts to the table that have experience with a wide range of applications, database versions and operating systems.

As large organisations have numerous projects and ongoing support needs there can be peaks and troughs in resource usage. In some cases, there are needs for certain skills that are not available in-house. Rather than recruiting internally to handle the peaks, many organisations use e-DBA to handle the extra load and/or provide the expertise needed for certain projects.

Benefits of using e-DBA for Technical Resources:

  • Handle unusual work patterns with non-consecutive days
  • Wide breadth of skills based on many customer environments
  • Resources knowledge share with rest of DBA/Technical team to retain knowledge
  • Resources can utilise the knowledge and experience from the rest of e-DBA when required
  • Same Resources can be used in other projects retaining the business knowledge gained
  • Pre-arranged resource holidays & sick days can be covered by other e-DBA resources
  • Technical DBAs – technical aspects of Oracle
  • Development DBAs – PL/SQL, SQL , interface development
  • Applications DBAs – e-Business Suite implementation and support
  • Functional Consultants – e-Business Suite specialists including Financials, HR & Payroll
  • Developers – Enterprise development specialists
  • Technical Architects – Enterprise level architects

Costs are tiered based on the number of days and the type of resources that are required. There are different pricing models for on-site versus off-site (UK off-site). The latter assumes either VPN or dial-up access to servers and databases.

The Flexible Resourcing plan assumes that the days purchased can be split into periods rather than having to be used in consecutive days/weeks. These periods should be scheduled to ensure that the resources you need are available when you need them.
